"Wabi-Sabi: The Japanese Art of Finding the Beauty in Imperfections. Rather than find faults in cracks, tears and other imperfections, the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi encourages us to appreciate that nothing is truly perfect or permanent."--Google search.

In Waldorf schools young children play with faceless natural dolls for that same reason of allowing the imagination to create the doll and in drawing we do not put faces on until perhaps the fifth grade.

Your watercolor people are great. My wife is binge-watching Northern Exposure while I will pop in now and then. Great show.
