But to put it briefly, just as art can be a healing, transformative experience for adults, so too for children. That is why beauty is found in just about everything that happens in the classroom. There has been a lot of studies about the healing effect of color. Every Waldorf classroom is beautiful and nurturing. The same with goodness being extolled, giving the sense that the world is right. By having that foundation in the early years, when puberty sets in, they have that to fall on instead of the cynicism that can so easily come in at that time. And cynicism is very detrimental to one's state of mind. It is not healthy. From a healthy state of mind the adolescent can explore a subject from 360 degrees, which is also very healthy for oneself and for the world to have free-thinkers. This is the search for truth.
