Nicely written, Connie. For me I like poems that reveal the essential. I like them on the shorter side. When they are too long, such as with the many traditional poets of yore, I find too-long winded and I begin to nod. I like poems that offer clarity, but have crocodiles that will suddenly rise unexpectedly and bite you into a new perspective. Cheers
