It is our nature, but the mind with all its machinations and running to the past or future obscures it. If you get a ball and throw it up in the air and then wait to catch it you are in your natural state. You are not thinking. You are present. when one meditates one becomes more aware of the space, the silence, where thoughts come and go. When we value that silence more than thoughts that is what we become aware of. Prayer is talking to God, meditation is listening. Both reveal peace since God is peace. Peace is with you, for God is with you now.
