In my view, the soul is not in pain, but the personality wrapped up in thoughts and feelings and identifies with a body. It is like a cocoon, waiting for a butterfly to emerge that is free because it identifies with the soul and not a body. Suicide is an abortion, which is tragic. But that is my take on it.
