Gurdjieff was quite a character. I respect his pursuing of the truth and leading to many teachings that he synthesized into his own. A good friend of mine belonged to a Gurdjieff group that he had to heal form as it was pretty intense, constantly working on perfecting oneself. A lot of emphasis on doing over being. I believe in making better on the temporal self while holding to the perfection of the infinite Self.
