My wife tells me I live in my head. I do. I dwell on the past, predict my future, and live for do-overs as if I could change people’s perceptions of me. Only to find that I am living in my past because I’m hung up on aligning my narrative with a reality that isn’t the real me. The only thing real is what is happening to me right now.
