A friend just asked me to comment on a video of who I supposed is considered a holy man. After all, he certainly looks the part and calls himself Sadguru (or at least allows himself to be called that by his worshipers). He was speaking on having a true Indian government for once, which he sees in the current Modi’s administration, not some government molded by Western attitudes.

I do not usually comment on politics, especially other countries’. However, I had a hard time going into meditation as a swirl of words in response flew around in my head.

I do not see this gentleman’s view of finally creating an Indian state any different than any other nationalist movement. Whether it was Mussolini’s hearkening back to the good old Roman, let’s-kick-the-butt-out-of-everybody days and make everyone Roman; or the Nazi’s nostalgia…
