Not all do I agree with, per se, not knowing the perspective of the whole passage of thought. Here are some thoughts that popped out.

I distrust using always. And shoulds can be limiting to Spirit. Not all parents deserve respect--gratitude for at least being a vessel of birth. And freedom, for me at its highest/deepest is being free of the confines of conditions. The Buddha, for instance, found freedom as did Jesus.

Often, the opposite of each maxim, will be found to be wise, pending on context.
